Two versions of the 1.5l hatchback are available, the standard one going for RM69,888, while the Premier version is priced at RM75,888 (both on-the-road, without insurance).

The M15A DOHC block with variable valve timing and four-speed auto transmission continue to hold court, and the locally-assembled Swift isn’t lacking in features - in the safety department, ABS, electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, as well as dual front airbags come as standard issue.

Suzuki Swift will be available to the market in August.

The Swift Premier comes shod with a sport bodykit, leather seats and window tint film; together, these dial in the extra six grand in additional cost over the Swift.

Both the Swift and Swift Premier come with 15-inch alloys. There are four colour choices, available across both versions, and these are Supreme Red, Silver Grey, Bayside Blue and Tranquility Black.

The five-door variant Swift Sport is powered by the M16A 1.6l engine, and the twin-cam, variable valve timing-equipped block puts out 125bhp at 6,800rpm and 146Nm of torque at 4,800rpm.

Drivetrain choices are either the same four-speed auto found on the Swift 1.5 or a five-speed manual transmission.
